MANAGING BREAST CANCER. The Perfect Fit for You.

Susan Thomas, Oncology Nurse, Breast Cancer Survivor, Nurse Navigator – Helping to put your plan in place.

We are so excited to have been invited to co-author Managing Breast Cancer: A Guide to Living Well Through Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. “It was wonderful to be considered to participate with doctors from Harvard and Georgetown Universities and Schools of Medicine providing this resource to our clients (I contributed the chapter on Wigs and Appearance). It’s a great way to celebrate our 20th anniversary helping women experiencing cancer and subsequent treatment,” explained Susan Thomas founder/owner Susan’s Special Needs, oncology nurse clinician, breast cancer survivor and nurse navigator.

Our objective is to help women put a plan in place whether they have been newly diagnosed or have already experienced surgery and treatment. We each have our own journey and it truly helps to speak with someone who has “Walked The Walk” experiencing surgery, treatment and guidance moving forward. This new book will be a great asset: “Acclaimed by breast cancer survivors and their loved-ones alike, Managing Breast Cancer is an indispensable guide.” Providing the plan and products for each phase of the journey coupled with this book helps us provide a unique and helpful service to our clients.

From human hair to synthetic wigs custom tailored for a perfect fit, mastectomy  bras and breast forms, beautiful selection of hats, turbans and scarves, skin care products, lymphedema sleeves and gloves we can help meet the specific needs of our clients. Susan’s Special Needs was born out of frustration from the lack of products and services to meet Susan’s special needs when she experienced breast cancer in 1992. As an oncology nurse clinician she was now on the patient side and she quickly realized the need for specialized products and services. From the fear of a new diagnosis then not knowing who to turn to for information and comfort at the beginning of this frightening journey and understanding what to expect. “Women walk in with hesitance and out with joy”.

“We can help, explained Susan. We have help thousands of women over the last 20 years and are here to be of service to those women now sharing this unexpected journey. Books will be available at Susan’s. Come in for your signed copy. Contact Susan at 248-544-4287 or visit us online: www.SusansSpecialNeeds.com.
