Living with cancer blog

Another way to connect with each other: Mayo Clinic Connect

By Sheryl M. Ness, R.N. April 24, 2014
We've been connecting on the Living with Cancer blog for more than four years now. It's a great way to share information, updates and resources and to support each other.
However, many of you have asked how you can connect in a more interactive way. Mayo Clinic has a patient community website called Mayo Clinic Connect where you can do just that.
Mayo Clinic Connect allows you to create your own account, log in and exchange ideas directly with other members of the Connect community. You can share news, updates, blogs, videos and other interactive media.
The Connect site has a cancer group where discussions are posted related to cancer: http://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/cancer. As I write each week's blog, I'll share a link with the Connect cancer group.
I invite you to take a look at Mayo Clinic Connect and join the community so you can begin your own discussions, connect with others and share your personal experiences. You can search the site based on keywords to find similar discussions.
The site also has a daily digest feature that is great for updates. You can choose to get real-time notifications of posts, get a daily or weekly digest, choose the time of day you'd like to receive the digest, and have the digest include topic threads you're following, or turn it off altogether.
Connect has a tab on the top of the page that will direct you to all of the Mayo Clinic blogs as well, so you can easily navigate back and forth from the Living with Cancer Blog and the Connect site.
Mayo Clinic Connect is moderated by a team of experts. We do our best to keep in touch with you as needed when questions come in. However, some of the best support and advice is exchanged between people sharing experiences with each other on the site.
