Cancer Information and Support Resources

The Support & Education section provides links to resources that will allow you to educate yourself about cancer and find support from various groups and organizations. Dealing with cancer is stressful and scary. The best way to combat this is through support and education. These resources will allow you to learn about your cancer, treatment and recovery from organizations, support groups and cancer survivors.
Cancer.org is the online home of the American Cancer Society. The site is divided into the following sections: Learn About CancerStay HealthyFind Support & TreatmentExplore Research; and Get Involved. There is also an In Your Area section that details events, resources and information specific to the American Cancer Society branch in your area. Be sure to check out the ACSHope Lodge for free lodging during out of town treatments.
The National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (NCCS) advocates for quality cancer care for all Americans and provides tools that empower people affected by cancer to advocate for themselves. Its free publications and resources include the award-winning Cancer Survival Toolbox®, a self-learning audio program created by leading cancer organizations to help people develop essential skills to meet the challenges of their illness.
CancerTrialsHelp.org is the home of Trial Check. Trial Check, developed by the Coalition of Cancer Cooperative Groups, is an information and technology cancer clinical trial software system for eligibility matching. The navigation service provides precise screening to match you to trials near your home by capturing disease subtype, age, prior treatment history, performance state and stage. Trials can also be searched by drug, protocol ID, performance site and anatomical site. FYI: Trials can be an option during any stage of cancer, not just when other treatments fail. Cancer.Net brings the expertise and resources of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the voice of the world’s cancer physicians, to people living with cancer and those who care for and care about them. All the information and content on Cancer.Net was developed and approved by the cancer doctors who are members of ASCO, making Cancer.Net the most up-to-date and trusted resource for cancer information on the Internet.
OncoLink.org provides comprehensive information about specific types of cancer, updates on cancer treatments and news about research advances. This information is updated daily.
RTAnswers.org was created by members of ASTRO, the American Society of Radiation Oncology, to explain to patients, their families and the public how radiation oncologists use radiation therapy to treat cancer safely and effectively.
EmbodiWorks is creating a better world through integrative cancer care education and advocacy to reduce cancer risk and improve cancer-related survival, quality of life, and whole person health care. Integrative cancer care addresses the totality of body, mind, and spirit, including social and environmental health, for each individual.
Imerman Angels partners a person fighting cancer with someone who has beaten the same type of cancer, enabling a one-on-one relationship that allows a fighter the opportunity to ask personal questions and get sup­port from someone who is uniquely familiar with their experience. The service is absolutely free and helps anyone touched by any type of cancer, at any cancer stage level, at any age, living anywhere in the world.
Friend4Life.org is a network of cancer survivors who provide compassionate, one-on-one support to others diagnosed with cancer, and to their loved ones. At your request, Friend for Life will match you with a trained volunteer who has experienced a form of cancer and/or course of treatment similar to yours. To the extent possible, they also match for age and gender.
CancerHopeNetwork.org matches cancer patients or family members with trained volunteers who have themselves undergone and recovered from a similar cancer experience. For patients, professionals and volunteers, they offer a secured social network where people who are affected by cancer can exchange experiences and share thoughts.
TalkAboutHealth believes in sharing experiences and knowledge. Their purpose is to create a community to help others and expand knowledge. All conversations are archived and made available for the benefit of everyone to revisit.

Team Survivor Affiliates provide group exercise and support programs for women with a present or past diagnosis of cancer. The National Association of Team Survivor (NATS) provides resources and guidance for Affiliates to develop programs and communicate their missions within their local markets. This site will help you start a team or find an existing team in your area.
I2Y.com (I’m Too Young For This! Cancer Foundation) exists to ensure that every young adult affected by cancer is given access to the best age-appropriate support they are entitled to in order to get busy living at every stage of their survivorship. The site offers access to online and offline social networking events, adventure retreats, chat rooms, forums and blogs, camping excursions, fertility advocacy, peer counseling, scholarships, financial aid, happy hours and more.
TheDayIFoundOut.com shares inspiring videos of people discussing the day they found out they had cancer. For many cancer survivors and their loved ones, this was one of the toughest days of their lives. This is a place where people with hope to spare can share it with those who need it most.
PeopleBeatingCancer.org is an "interactive health communication application."  This website is a resource for an unbiased, full spectrum, aggregation and opinion about cancer information from the best minds in the world.
Patient Power.info is a unique site where you will find no diet plans, no encyclopedic definitions of a disease, and no advertising. You WILL find more than 2,000 audio interviews and videos with renowned experts – doctors and patients – guiding you in your fight against a serious diagnosis.
